My fabulous friend Heidi (www.heidihasahobby.com) proposed a challenge to take a picture every hour from 9-9 with the challenge of finding art in the mundane. I don't know how much art I found and a few times I broke the rules, but we decided to take on the task and had fun doing it.
Here is "A Day in the Life..."
8:45 - First thing we did was break the rules. This is the 8:45 picture. Peter loved how the light silhouetted this angel, so we're starting early...
9 o'clock - Coffee and Homemade Banana Bread. I didn't have to work at all this week so lots of time for baking! |
10 o'clock - The snow is gone and it looks like it will be an indoor day today. This rain has washed away all the evidence of last week's storm.
11 o'clock - We volunteered to make dinner for our Community Group this evening. We decided to involve my new best friend, Crockpot. I've gotten to know her a lot better this fall and I can't believe I didn't involve her in my cooking more before.
12 o'clock - One of my favorite times of day is nap time. Laney just learned to roll to her tummy and she's now a tummy sleeper. I love just resting my hand on her back and feeling it rise and fall in a comforting rhythm. Now, I have a little time to get things done.
1 o'clock - This time actually beats naptime in my favorite times of the day. Whenever Laney wakes up she is curious and smiley and whenever I walk into our room, she turns to see me and greets me with a smile. Love that girl!
2 o'clock - Laney is in a spitting up kind of mood. You may notice the dark puddle in her pack in play. Well, after repeatedly spitting up on herself, I decided it was time for outfit number 2. Like most babies, she LOVES to be naked. If only I didn't have to put clothes on her. She'd be in heaven. I like this picture because it just shows her inquisitive nature and curious eyes. I just can't help but wonder what she might be thinking.
3 o'clock - I'm always amazed by how engrossed Laney is by her toys.
It barely feels like she's playing, more like she's working hard to figure things out.
4 o'clock - Laney's perspective
5 o'clock - Ack! I missed the photo hour and we were supposed to be at a friend's house by 5!
7 o'clock - Every night we get to spend a little time rocking Laney in the glider. We both love this time as she snuggles into our chest before feeding her and putting her down. (Thanks, Heidi for the awesome glider!)
So as you can see, I didn't really make the 9-9 challenge...luckily, I had fun taking pictures when I did remember. I might need to try this challenge again. I'm taking a photography class online and maybe afterwards I'll feel inspired. :)
Love, love, love it all!!! She is growing up so much already...
